Sweden charges man for selling wife to 120 men
A Swedish man has been charged with aggravated pimping, several rapes, and assault for allegedly exploiting his 'vulnerable' wife by arranging for her to have sex with approximately 120 men for money.
A 62-year-old Swedish man was formally charged on March 30, 2026, with multiple serious crimes including aggravated pimping, eight rapes, four attempted rapes, and four assaults. The charges stem from allegations that he exploited his 'vulnerable' wife by forcing her to provide sexual services to approximately 120 men for financial gain between August 11, 2022, and October 21, 2025. The man, who is reportedly a former high-ranking member of the Hells Angels biker group, has denied all accusations and remains in custody since his arrest in late October 2025 after his wife reported him to police in northern Sweden.
According to the prosecution, the man systematically exploited his wife by creating online advertisements, arranging meetings with clients, and using violence, threats, and exploitation of her drug addiction to pressure her into performing sexual acts. Some threats reportedly included warnings about unleashing 'the monster.' The man allegedly profited financially from this arrangement while also serving as a guard during encounters and forcing his wife to perform online sexual acts to attract more clients.
Prosecutor Ida Annerstedt noted that while the woman had agreed 'to some extent' to selling sex, she objected to certain individuals or circumstances, leading to rape and attempted rape charges when her boundaries were not respected. Authorities have identified approximately 120 individuals suspected of purchasing sexual services, with 26 men already charged and others under investigation. Sweden's prostitution laws ban the buying of sex but not the selling, though it is illegal to facilitate the sale of sex.
The trial is scheduled to begin on April 13, 2026, according to public broadcaster SVT. The man's lawyer representing the victim, Silvia Ingolfsdottir, stated that the charges relate to 'serious and aggravated crimes' and expressed hope that her client would obtain justice through the legal process. The case has drawn comparisons to the 2024 French case of Gisele Pelicot, whose husband was sentenced to 20 years in prison for similar crimes involving drugging his wife and inviting men to rape her while she was unconscious.
As of March 31, 2026, no further updates are available beyond the formal charges being filed and the scheduled trial date. The case highlights issues of domestic violence, sexual exploitation, and the vulnerability of individuals within abusive relationships, particularly when substance abuse and organized crime connections are involved. The Swedish legal system will now proceed with the trial to determine the man's guilt or innocence regarding these serious allegations.
