Voice actress and content creator Inka Magnaye was dragged into the flood control corruption controversy in March 2026 when a social media user linked her to the issue due to her relationship with her boyfriend Mat Crespo, who works at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Magnaye responded by posting a screengrab of a Facebook comment calling her out for alleged silence on the issue, to which she directly told the individual to 'take it up with him', referring to Crespo.
The controversy originally surfaced in September 2025 when anonymous posts sparked accusations linking Magnaye's boyfriend to corruption in DPWH flood control projects. At that time, Magnaye defended Crespo, confirming he is a civil engineer working at DPWH but denying claims that he is corrupt. She explained that she had been harassed with allegations and faced doxing, with Crespo's work details being publicly shared online.
Magnaye clarified her position regarding the flood control corruption issue, stating that while she has been aware of the matter, she intentionally chose not to be overly vocal about issues outside her personal knowledge to avoid misrepresenting her boyfriend's workplace and potentially jeopardizing his livelihood. Instead, she said she has been reposting and resharing credible information about the anomalous flood control projects on her Threads and TikTok accounts.
The voice talent emphasized that 'not everyone at DPWH is involved in the corruption' and called on the public to distinguish between speculation and facts. She noted that the issue is larger than her and her boyfriend, and concluded by stating that both she and Mat are taxpayers opposed to corruption who want those responsible for mishandling funds to be held accountable. The March 2026 incident represents a continuation of this controversy, with Magnaye maintaining her stance of redirecting criticism directly to her boyfriend rather than engaging with accusations against herself.
